How to Convert BS to AD Dates
Bikram Sambat (BS) is the official historic calendar of Nepal, initiated by Emperor Bikramaditya. It is roughly 56.7 years ahead of the Common Era (AD/CE). For example, New Year 2083 BS starts around mid-April 2026 AD.
Unlike the Gregorian calendar which has fixed month lengths (30 or 31 days, and 28/29 for February), Nepali month durations are determined astronomically each year by the Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti.
